Dennis Serritella is a 32 year old police detective and ten year veteran of the City of Garfield Police Department in the State of New Jersey. After playing competitive sports his entire life, he went on to college for a few years prior to becoming a L.E.O. at the age of 21. After several knee surgeries caused him to gain weight and become unhealthy, he found CrossFit in 2012, and hoped it would help him return to form. After only a few months, he was able to lose nearly 60 lbs. After one year, he nearly cracked the top 100 athletes in the North East region. In 2016 he was crowned the Fittest Cop in NJ, 4th fittest in the North East and 18th fittest in the United States. He opened the first NJ L.E.O. affiliate in his police department, named Crossfit Garfield PD, where he trains a group of officers in the Crossfit methodology. He hopes to help take his team (CrossFit Steam) to regionals in 2018.
